Families will take cues from you about how excited they should be about receiving a PowerPak. So here are some tips on how to distribute PowerPaks in a way that communicates to families that this is something they’ll enjoy…

No matter how you decide to distribute your PowerPaks, here are three things to always do:

  1. Build anticipation — Announce family PowerPak distribution is coming in your church newsletters, in Sunday bulletins, via text messages, at child check-in stations, and in social media. Drop hints about the theme and some of the fun elements families will find inside.
  2. Make it fun — Wherever or however you choose to distribute PowerPaks, incorporate some fun elements such as kid-friendly worship music playing, balloons, colorful bags or tissue paper, snacks, and so on.
  3. Use positive energy — Show excitement and enthusiasm yourself.

Creative Ways to Distribute PowerPaks:
  • Family Assembly Line — This is a great way for families to see everything that’s inside their PowerPak. Set up an assembly line, and have families walk down the line to build their own PowerPaks. If you’re short on volunteers, this is the perfect way to get the help you need!
  • Porch Drop-Off — This is a great way to distribute PowerPaks for so many reasons. It can be an outreach tool, a way to invite families to your family events, a way to follow-up with families who attended your last family event or who just visited your church, and more. It’s also just fun for families to find a special treat on their doorstep! If you decide on this special delivery, don’t forget to include a note from you, an invite, or a thank-you.
  • Pick-Up Station — Set up a special spot (see “Make it fun” above) where families can drop by and pick up their special PowerPak gifts on Sunday morning. For added impact, have some refreshments to encourage families to hang out and meet each other.

MORE TIPS!
  • Keep extra PowerPaks at your child check-in station for visiting families, families that didn’t receive one when you handed them out, families that may have lost theirs, or families that want to give one to a neighbor or friend.
  • Give every family TWO PowerPaks so they can give one to a neighbor. Be sure to include a note from your church.
